My background is in adult education and I have some experience in working with adults with learning difficulties and disabilities teaching photography and IT. Until May 2013 I was course leader for a BTEC Photography Diploma group at City College Brighton and Hove and I also have experience in delivering workshops to adults, young people and children in the refugee community. I have been described as very patient and kind.
I have particularly good skills in working in the community and I am currently looking to lead and facilitate more informal workshops. My key areas of expertise are: documentary and street photography, portraiture, photographing objects, conceptual project work, digital photography (incl. Photoshop and Lightrooom).
I am interested in collaborative learning, learning communities and the different ways we can obtain knowledge. I read Gardener, Rogers, Petty, Flusser and I encourage testing and experimentation. I like to explore the edge of new ideas and technologies. I also like to keep engaged in debates on contemporary photographic culture.

Own practice
In terms of my own practice, I have been experimenting with Soundslides and all things audio visual- I still have a lot to pick up. Images and sound are a rather powerful tool of expression. Themes of my own work include: journeys, travel, transit, migration, changing communities, the use of public space and our impact on the environment.
I have an MA International Photojournalism and a BA Editorial Photography although the best things I learnt were through friends, life and work experience.
